Main Street Books is hosting a public conversation about the impact of intense political rhetoric on the health of neighborhoods and communities. Certified mediator and retired public school administrator, Nancy Barkemeyer, will moderate a panel discussion. We want to engage citizens in healthy conversation about how to move forward after the November elections when the winning candidates take office and the hurtful political rhetoric that took place in front yards, HOA meetings, coffee shops, and even church services remains in the minds of our friends and neighbors who may have made opposing votes at the ballot box.
Join us in conversation with:
- Dr. Michael Bitzer, Professor of Political Science, Catawba College
- Rev. Jody Seymour, retured senior pastor of Davidson United Methodist Church
- Jim Martin, former two-term Republican governor of North Carolina
- Mark Washburn, Charlotte Observer journalist
We are pleased to partner with Davidson Learns to bring you this panel discussion.
