Writer's Workshop: How to Get an Agent

Are you a writer? Have you finished or are you about to finish a manuscript? Are you baffled by the intricacies of getting your manuscript into a publisher's hands?

Then consider joining author Scott Reintgen at Main Street Books for an hour-long workshop, during which you'll learn why you need an agent, how to find an agent, what to look for when selecting an agent, and how to woo the agent of your dreams.

After the workshop, attendees are will be invited to submit a query letter to Reintgen for critique. Reintgen, who supplements his writing career with manuscript and query editing services, will guide novice query letter writers through the important topics to include and tone to adopt in a query letter, and fine-tune veteran writers' one-page query letters with line edits and general feedback.

Reintgen is the author of The Nyxia Triad, a young adult science fiction trilogy hailed by young adult author Marie Lu as "a high octane thriller." The trilogy is published by Crown Readers, a subsidiary of Random House Children's Books, and Reintgen is represented by Kristin Nelson of Nelson Literary Agency. The first book in the series has nearly 900 reviews and over 2,000 ratings on Goodreads, with an average of 4.11 stars.

This workshop is free with purchase of Reintgen's latest book, the second installment in the Nyxia triad, Nyxia Unleashed.
