Join us for a poetry reading with Davidson writer Adrienne Gilman who is celebrating her poetry collection, Poetry on Love and Lattes.
Adrienne Gilman is a recovering lawyer-turned-author living in Davidson, North Carolina. After graduating from Vermont Law School in 2002, her and her husband, Ben, moved to Charlotte. Adrienne left the law after ten plus years of practicing to spend more time with her children and more time writing. They now have three young, active boys, and a fourth baby on the way. Adrienne enjoys all types of writing, including non-fiction and poetry. She is a member of Charlotte Writers' Club and North Carolina Writers' Network. Charlotte Writers’ Club North is proudly sponsoring a book party for Poetry on Love and Lattes on November 23 @ 4pm at Main Street Books in Davidson. The event is open to the public. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Writing poetry has been a part of Adrienne’s life since she was a little girl. For her first collection of poetry, however, she didn’t want to create simply a book of poetry. She wanted something more, something that invited the reader to join in the experience of writing. Poetry on Love and Lattes became an inspirational journal and a collection of original poetry (plus some witty one-liners). The book/journal includes writing prompts and enchanting images that inspire the reader to create or daydream. The poetry is easily consumable, not intimidating or overly-academic, and gives the reader plenty of space to write.
